So, for sure, there is an official proposal by a member of the EU Parliament to put in the root a .kid (thanks to Patrick at UDRPlaw for pointing to different articles, I confess I was not sure whether this information was reliable when I discovered it yesterday on an Italian website).
Well, well, well... That does not seem a great idea. In the US, they created a SLD .kids.us, which was a success: There are about 20 (yes, twenty) sites with name in .kids.us!

Agreed: Why do they think it's a good idea? .KID.US hasn't gone anywhere. I guess it may work if they spend lots of money promoting the namespace. But are they willing to spend tons of cash for awareness? Hmmm...
