No more "Gmail" suffix in Germany
"Google ceases to hand out emails with the extension @gmail.com in Germany. Instead, new users will get a @googlemail.com address", Google Blogoscoped's Philipp reports. One could wonder why there is a need to change the extension for outgoing e-mails: If I send an e-mail from my Gmail account to several persons in Germany, will I infringe the trademark "Gmail", registered in Germany by someone who is not Google?
