Greeks will from July 4 for the first time be able to name their Internet sites with letters from the Greek alphabet, the country's telecommunications authorities (EETT) said.
Currently Greek websites only use the Latin alphabet, due to a combination of technical problems and a lack of preparation by the registration companies, according to the EETT.
However, Greek users will not be able to forget the Latin alphabet altogether, as they will still have to fit their Greek website names between the Latin versions of http://www and the suffix .gr.
