European Commission sued over ".eu" domain name

Emmanuel Gillet (Domaines.info) reports that the European Commission is sued by a German company, for having reserved the domain name galileo.eu for itself.

Jointly with the European Space Agency, the European Union (represented by the European Commission) launched the Galileo European Satellite Navigation System project (Council Regulation (EC) No 876/2002 of 21 May 2002 setting up the Galileo Joint Undertaking). Pursuant to EC Regulation 874/2004 article 9, the Commission was entitled to ask EURid, the Registry in charge of .eu domain names, to introduce domain names directly under the .eu TLD for use by the Community institutions and bodies.
The Commission notified a 150 pages list of names that are to be reserved.

Galileo Lebensmittel GmbH & Co. KG claims before the Courf of First Instance (case T46/06) that the Commission's decision to reserve galileo.eu should be annulled.
