This paper examines a number of the issues surrounding IDNs, such as the need for their introduction, the technical challenges, the intellectual property issues, and the risks to the current DNS. The paper also calls for a UDRP reform (page 4).
It is not the first time that one points out that the use of IDNs may lead to domain names that are similar phonetically, visually or across various character tables, and may jeopardize trademarks.
