In a classical dispute, the village of Pawling wants the owner of villageofpawling.com and villageofpawling.org to relinquish his rights on these names.
Meanwhile, France seems positively determined to have a statute preventing the registration of town names, and after a Senate report released today, should also try to prevent the registration of national assemblies, and the personal names of elected people.

UPDATE, June 23.
The Village Board voted on June 21 to continue its litigation against Bruce Cunningham, in an effort to cause him to cease using the Web domain names www.villageofpawling.com and www.villageofpawling.org.
